Sharon Cheuk Wun Lee

Transmitter and Tiger Strikes Asteroid NY (TSA) are excited to announce the Summer TNT Residency 2025 artist-in-residence Sharon Cheuk Wun Lee. Lee will be in residence in our space at 1329 Willoughby Ave from July to December 2025. 

Sharon Cheuk Wun Lee (b. 1992, Hong Kong; lives and works in New York) holds an MFA (2025) from Columbia University and a BFA (2016) and MFA (2022) from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her works were exhibited at institutions including WMA and HART Haus (Hong Kong, 2024); Kyoto Art Center (Kyoto, 2023); Tai Kwun Contemporary (Hong Kong, 2022); and The Listening Biennial (Berlin, 2021).

Her art commissions include Hi! Flora Fauna at the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens by the Art Promotion Office (2021); Peer to Peer: UK/HK (2020); and the Hong Kong International Photo Festival (2018–2020). Lee was a finalist for KG+ SELECT and the Sovereign Asian Art Prize (2023), and received the WMA Masters Award (Hong Kong, 2019). She has been awarded scholarships and grants for academic exchanges at Yale University and the University of Vienna, as well as art residencies including Oak Spring Garden Foundation and Taipei International Art Residency. Her work has been featured in ArtAsiaPacific, Harvard Advocate, Artomity, and SCMP.

She is currently exhibiting in the 2025 Visual Arts + Sound Art MFA Thesis Exhibition at the Wallach Art Gallery, Lenfest Center for the Arts. For more information, visit Lee’s website or Instagram.

About TNT Residency

The TNT Residency, organized by Tiger Strikes Asteroid New York and Transmitter Gallery, is a 6-month fully funded 430 square foot studio adjacent to both galleries at 1329 Willoughby Avenue, which culminates in a solo exhibition or open studio event within the studio space. This residency will occur in two cycles per year, each with separate application cycles: Our “Winter” residency runs from January through June, and our “Summer” residency will run from July through December.
