Tiger Strikes Asteroid is pleased to present Where Are You Now?, an exhibition featuring the work of artists Sonnie Wooden, Lucha Rodriguez, Abbey Muza, Eric Rivera Barbeito, Andy Davis, Michelle S. Cho, Malik John-Marc Purvis, Alejandro T. Acierto, Kemar Wynter, Gabby Sumney and Cali M. Banks. The artists were selected from an outstanding pool of applicants to our 2021 Open Call.

We find ourselves in a time that tasks us to re-imagine our established rituals and relationship to work. New parameters on where and how we can be physically have demanded rapid adaptation from artists. This year, TSA Philadelphia’s Open Call is multidimensional, extending beyond an in-person exhibition into the realm of digital and print. The show is meant to serve as not just a platform for objects, but also as a glimpse into the artists’ physical spaces and state of mind.

In addition to a group exhibition at TSA Philadelphia, the show will include an online exhibition, a social media component, and a mailable printed periodical. Artists will invite viewers virtually into their processes and workspaces – whether formal studio spaces or converted corners of their kitchens. Please join us in celebrating their perseverance.

The exhibition opens at TSA on Saturday, March 20, and runs through Saturday, May 15. The gallery will be open for in-person viewing on Saturdays from 12-5 and by appointment. Masks are required at all times in the building and visitors will be limited to three at a time. Please email philadelphia@tigerstrikesasteroid.com if you wish to schedule a visit outside of regular gallery hours.
