Most group exhibitions stress the works stylistic similarities, conceptual processes or are so bogged down in nonsensical art double speak as to be intellectually and emotionally impenetrable. In a time of pluralistic artistic practices can any unifying themes be stressed? Such themes usually illustrate only superficial trends in art making – not so much new styles as much as different packaging. Style is plastic and can be applied towards many different ends. It is particular to an individuals work and should be judged as such. This exhibition is concerned with the agendas of individual artists, showing their work whether it fits a current stylistic trend or not. This is an eclectic show made up of work by serious, dedicated artists who give thoughtful consideration to their artistic practices.
