Tiger Strikes Asteroid Greenville (TSA GVL) artist collective is pleased to announce Maggie Genoble as our inaugural artist of our 2024 Summer Artist in Residence. The residency is designed to highlight local artists and provide them with studio space to grow their practice, reflect on their goals, and experiment with new and existing projects. The competitive selection process was exciting due to the vibrancy of the Greenville Spartanburg area, and we are privileged to have seen so many engaging artworks submitted by the applicants. We congratulate and welcome Maggie Genoble as our first Artist in Residence and look forward to her forthcoming project and engagement with the community.

In the first three weeks of August, Genoble will utilize our gallery as a studio space, providing visitors insight into her creative process. She will continue working on an extension of her project, Strip Tease. The final week of August will feature a short-term exhibition of work created during the residency period. Follow our Instagram @TSA_GVL for updates about scheduled hours when the public can visit Genoble while she is working in the gallery.

About the Artist

Maggie Genoble is an interdisciplinary artist from Jonesville, South Carolina. Working in sculpture, video, and installation, she explores the intersection of technology with gender and queer studies to expand on ideas of identity. Genoble received a Bachelors of Art in Studio Art and Art History from Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina
